Next Beginner Novice class starts Thursday, June 23rd
Mound City Obedience Training Club is proud to continue the first Beginner Novice training course in the St. Louis area. This six-week course will prepare dogs and handlers to compete in the AKC's newest competition, the highly popular Beginner Novice class. Beginner Novice was designed by AKC to provide a "bridge" between Rally and Novice Obedience, and to ease new handlers into the exciting sport of obedience. Heeling is done using Rally Novice signs, and there is no off-lead heeling. Also absent from Beginner Novice are the familiar (and sometimes dreaded) "long sit" and "long down" exercises.
The Beginner Novice competition made its debut this past summer, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. If you’d like to get started in the exciting world of obedience, if you've ever felt intimidated by showing in Novice, or if you know someone who has, this is a terrific opportunity to compete in a less demanding atmosphere, yet still end up with an official AKC title.
Mound City's Beginner Novice class begins on Thursday, June 23rd, and runs for six weeks.
Class instructor is Debbie Stover.
